Our story
Our firm was founded in September 2024 by a team of professionals, that worked together for 10 years, with deep expertise in operational tax, combining decades of in-house and Big4 experience. We saw a gap in the market: no firm was solely dedicated to the intricate and evolving field of operational tax. Recognizing this need, we set out to create a firm that focuses exclusively on this area.
Our mission is to make life easier for our clients by making complex operational tax legislation digestible and fun. We are committed to delivering practical, expert advice and project or execution support to help you navigate the complexities of the operational tax landscape with confidence.

Our team
I’m Robert Jan Meindersma, a tax adviser with over two decades of experience in operational taxes. I began my career in 2003 as an in-house tax adviser at a global asset manager, where I handled VAT, fund structuring, wage taxes, and operational taxes such as the EU Savings Directive and the U.S. Qualified Intermediary regime.
During my 16 years with Big4 firms, I specialized further in operational taxes, serving clients across the financial services industry, family offices, digital platforms (DAC7), multinationals, SMEs (DAC6 mandatory disclosure rules), and crypto asset service providers (DAC8).
My experience spans both large-scale projects and hands-on, in-house work with clients. I firmly believe that a solution isn’t complete until it’s fully implemented—bridging the gap between strategy and execution is key to real success.
Outside of work, I enjoy playing field hockey and spending time with my family. Our office is located in my hometown, Rotterdam.

Roderick Hermans
My name is Roderick Hermans, and I’ve spent my career in the world of operational tax for banks and private equity firms, specializing in areas like FATCA, CRS, and withholding taxes. I started my financial services career with a large U.S. custody bank responsible for the operational tax for large pension funds. I gained a lot of deep industry operational tax experience which I further extended during my almost 10 years with PwC focussing on the banking, asset management and family office sectors. I even took my expertise across the pond, spending 1,5 years navigating New York’s financial sector (and discovering the best food along the way).
Whether it was expert questions or getting hands-on during client secondments, I’ve always kept operational tax practical and explainable, ensuring businesses stay on the right side of tax regulations.
Now back in Utrecht, I balance setting up a new tax boutique with the chaos of family life alongside my wife and our four kids.

I’m Ralph van Melick, an operational tax advisor with 10 years of experience in the financial sector. My career began with a brief adventure in the Dutch Caribbean, followed by nine enriching years at PwC Netherlands. I hold a Master’s degree in Tax Law from Leiden University, complemented by specialized courses, such as a series focused on U.S. International Tax.
Throughout my career, I have focused exclusively on operational taxes, particularly FATCA, CRS, and U.S. withholding tax regulations under the Qualified Intermediary regime. I’ve worked on-site with major banks on long-term assignments and served as a trusted advisor to large and family-owned investment firms. My work frequently spans multiple jurisdictions and operates at the intersection of tax technical analysis, policy, and process design. I thrive on the challenge of translating complex tax analysis into practical, scalable solutions. I also enjoy hosting training sessions and have designed both informal health checks and formal periodic reviews on FATCA and Qualified Intermediary compliance.
I’m thrilled to be part of the founding team of our new operational tax boutique. This venture brings exciting opportunities to innovate, grow, and make a meaningful impact.
Outside of work, I’m proud to call the historic town of Leiden my home. I enjoy spending time with family and friends and have a passion for reading, with a particular fondness for historical novels.
